Highway 30 at 330, Marshalltown, Iowa - At 9:04 AM 8/25/17, the Marshall County Communications center received a call from the owner of a Boone County, Iowa trucking company advising that he was attempting to make contact with one of his drivers that was believed to be suicidal. Another driver with the company reported seeing the truck sitting on the shoulder at the Highway 30 and 330 junction.
At 9:05 AM, the communications center received a call from a passerby that stopped to check on a female walking from a truck at the Hwy 30/330 interchange. The female reported that she had been prevented from leaving the truck and had been assaulted over the course of the last several hours by the driver, who had now shot himself in the truck.
The driver was deceased upon arrival and the investigation is ongoing. The driver and female were acquainted with each other and do not have any known connection to Marshall County other than having loaded the trailer in Marshalltown on 8/24/17 for delivery elsewhere in Iowa.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Office was assisted on scene by the Marshall County Medical Examiner. The body has been transported to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Ankeny for further investigation.

On August 10th, 2022 the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a Marshall County Conservation Officer who had located a possible human jawbone on a sandbar in the Iowa River south of Albion, Marshall County Iowa.July 18, 2022
