K9 Unit Fundraiser

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office has been incredibly fortunate with years of support from citizens, businesses, and communities that have made Marshall County a great place to live, work and raise families. The last few years have included a tornado, derecho, and pandemic that have shown all of us the importance of working together as a community to improve the lives of all.  The Marshall County Sheriff's Office wants to ensure all citizens that no matter the circumstances we will always be here to serve you through the core values of service, integrity, respect and fairness.  We would like to share with you an opportunity our agency has to continue to meet our mission.  The Marshall County Sheriff's Office is excited to announce our inaugural K9 program.  This decision is simply due to the large number of cases where K9 Teams have been instrumental and where vital opportunities still need to be met.  We are reaching out to ask for your support in raising funds for Marshall County Sheriff’s Office’s first K9 Unit.

With the addition of a trained and nationally certified dual-purpose dog, our agency will utilize the K9 Unit for drug/narcotic detection, building searches, criminal tracking and apprehension, locating lost and endangered citizens, officer protection, visible crime deterrent in public places, and informational programs that include educational programs in area schools to build community relations.  This will not only support the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office’s mission, but we will also support all local law enforcement agencies to provide a collaborative effort in making our communities safe.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Office believes it is important for the community to understand what your donation will fund.  As an inaugural K9 program, funds raised will only be used to purchase a dual-purpose police K9, K9 handler training and certification, training equipment, dedicated K9 vehicle including K9 insert, veterinary expenses, and kennel construction materials.  Our goal is to raise $80,000.00 in public donations to support the K9 Unit without creating a tax burden to citizens.  This goal may seem distant, however with dedicated staff that have a clear plan we have already successfully raised $7,600.00 in donations and grants in just a few weeks.

To help us reach our goal, I respectfully request to be considered to receive a donation from your organization.  If you can support our K9 Unit in anyway, all donations are greatly appreciated.  Checks can be made out to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office K9 Fund.
