Body found in Iowa River identified

Iowa River, rural Marshalltown - The body of a man found in the Iowa River Saturday evening, 9/13/14, has been identified as that of Kevin Kroener, age 52, of rural Marshalltown.

Kroener had been missing since the previous Saturday when family reported that he had not returned from swimming at the river, which adjoins land owned by the family.

An extensive ground and water search was conducted and his body was eventually found by volunteers searching for him Saturday.

Foul play is not suspected.
