At approximately 6:21 PM on August 21st, 2023, Deputies were dispatch to 2700-Mile of Zeller Avenue, Gilman, Iowa for a report of a male subject that was struck by a tractor. When deputies and first responders arrived at the farm site, the unresponsive tractor operator was located and transported to Unity Point Hospital in Marshalltown.
The tractor operator, identified as Christopher Husak, age 51, of Gilman, Iowa was later pronounced deceased as a result of injuries sustained from the accident.
This incident remains under investigation.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Gilman Fire and & EMS, LeGrand Fire & EMS, Unity Point Heath-Marshalltown Ambulance, and the Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office.
