Driver has been identified as Michael L. McNeill, age 58, of Clear Lake, Iowa.
Investigation is ongoing to determine cause of the accident.
At approximately 6:38 PM on June 6th, 2024, Deputies were dispatched to 2000-Mile of 190th Street, Marshalltown, Iowa for a report of a single vehicle rollover accident with unknown occupants. When deputies arrived on scene an unresponsive male was located on the roadway several yards from the vehicle. It was determined no other occupants were inside or near the incident vehicle prior to the vehicle becoming fully ingulfed in flames.
The driver of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene as a result of injuries sustained from the accident. Identity of the driver is not being released at this time pending notification of family members.
This motor vehicle crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and Iowa State Medical Examiner’s Office.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Iowa State Patrol, Unity Point Heath-Marshalltown Ambulance, Marshall County Medical Examiner’s Office, Albion Fire Department and First Responders, Liscomb Fire Department, and Clemons Fire Department.
