Identity of Man Killed in Rollover Accident Released

February 18, 2013

Rural Liscomb, Iowa - The identity of the driver killed in a rollover crash Saturday night, February 16, in rural Marshall County has been released. The Marshall County Communications Center received a report of a rollover accident at approximately 11:30 P.M. Saturday.

Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 1300 block of Prairie Avenue, approximately three miles southeast of Liscomb, Iowa and determined that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was deceased.

It appears that the driver, James Allen Andrews, age 47, a current resident of Montour, IA and former Marshalltown, IA resident, failed to negotiate a curve on the rural gravel road, entered the ditch and rolled the vehicle. Evidence indicates that Mr. Andrews was not using a safety belt.

The Marshalltown Area Paramedic Service and Liscomb and Marshalltown Fire Departments also responded to the scene.

The accident remains under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff's Office and the Marshall County Medical Examiner.
