The Annual I.A.I. Crime Scene School
Each year the Marshall County Sheriff's Office co-sponsors a week-long crime scene school for investigators at its complex. The Iowa Division of the International Association for Identification is the primary lead on this excellent school. During the 5 day event, I.A.I. instructors teach crime scene investigators how to perform their duties at the top of their ability. Latent finger print, footwear and evidence recovery are just a small number of the areas discussed. The training is conducted in the 10,000 square foot class room facility with hands on activity involving various types of simulated crime scenes that are setup throughout the 50 acre Sheriff's Office grounds.
